About Discover Theme

Ages: 5-12  |  Levels: 1-3

Locations: Markham, Richmond Hill, Toronto & Vaughan

Discover the world of medical science, health, and the human body! Campers will discover the skeletal system by learning the names of bones, examining X-rays, and applying real splints, casts, and slings. They will hunt for germs and test their hand-washing skills, gain practical experience with basic first aid, and learn when and how to call emergency services.

Campers will delve into the heart and cardiovascular system, observe a pig heart specimen, learn how medications and vaccines work, and write prescriptions on Rx pads. They will take turns being the doctor and patient in various station activities, and use real medical equipment.  They will take vital signs, learn about teeth, and practice their dentistry skills on teeth models.  They will discover how our lungs work, along with various breathing emergencies like asthma, anaphylaxis and choking, and how to respond. This comprehensive program highlights the importance of first aid skills and equips campers with the knowledge and tools to be prepared for emergencies.

This Camp Covers:

GERMS, HEART, LUNGS, DENTISTRY, PEDIATRICS, VITAL SIGNS, BLOOD, BONES,  MUSCLES, X-RAYS, SPLINTS, CASTS, CHOKING,  CPR, FIRST AID and MORE!

Who is this Camp For?

Level 1 – Munchkin Medics: Ages 5-7*

Level 2 – Mini Medics: Ages 7-9

Level 3 - Junior Medics:  Ages 9-12

Age-Based and Learner-Driven Unique Journeys: Activities and topics increase in complexity for each age group and are different each day of each program theme.

Types of doctors kids learn about include: Physicians, Dentists, Orthodontists, Pediatricians, Obstetrician, Cardiologists, Pulmonologists, Orthopedists, Podiatrists, Radiologists, Virologists, Physiatrists and more...

Medics Camp’s certified STEM.org programs are designed to be age-specific and learner-driven, offering unique daily activities for every program and age group. As kids progress through the age groups, the topics and challenges grow more complex, and each program theme introduces new medical professionals and concepts.

For example, an 8-year-old in the Level 2 Mini Medics group (ages 7-9) can join any or all three themes: Discover, Explore, and Forensic Med and each day will offer fresh experiences tailored to their age. The following summer, they can advance to the Junior Medics group (ages 9-12), tackling higher-level challenges in the same themes, with all-new content suited for older campers.

There’s no required order or prerequisites—each theme is self-contained and age-appropriate. Campers are always grouped with peers their age, working in small teams of 4 to 6, and guided by dedicated instructors and counselors in their own camp rooms.

At Medics Camp, your child will enjoy a personalized, exciting journey that inspires curiosity and learning!

*Campers must be at least age 5 OR have completed JK.
